Volunteering

With a strong and active volunteer program the Mannum Dock Discovery Centre, PS Marion and Visitor Information Centre highly recognises and acknowledges the valuable contribution of its volunteers.

We currently rely on the help of many people to manage and preserve the PS Marion and museum collections, as well as the provision of customer service in the nationally accredited Visitor Information Centre.

For PS Marion – skippers, mates, engineers, firemen, deck hands, galley hands, bar staff, ticket sellers, wood workers, plumbers and general maintenance workers are all welcome.

For our collections we welcome those with a love for cultural material and an interest in history.

Volunteers in the Visitor Information Centre advise visitors of places to visit and things to see or do as well as keep the large selection of tourist brochure stands well stocked.

If you’d like to contribute to your local community, learn new skills and meet new people and can spare just a few hours each week/fortnight/month, please come and join us.

We will make every effort to match you to a volunteer role that suits you, taking into consideration your own special skills, interests and preferences.

Previous experience is not a necessity.

If you would like to become a volunteer or require further information about our volunteer program please contact the Visitor Information Centre Coordinator on 08 8569 1303.
